Questions From Lise

1. Do you have a saying that you don't necessarily intend to use but still do?
"It is what it is". I say it a lot and I even annoy myself. It falls out of my mouth before I've even engaged my brain.

2. What would be your ideal living situation?
An old cottage with exposed beams in the middle of nowhere (but still driving distance to amenities) with the fiance and the cats. That's all I want.

3. If you could have any non-traditional pet, what would it be?
I wouldn't opt for a different kind of pet, mostly because the majority of animals are meant to be wild and it doesn't seem fair to keep one that isn't allowed to be.

4. What is your dream job? Do you already have it?
Definitely not. I've always wanted to be a writer and currently work in retail. So...

5. What does blogging mean to you?
For me, blogging is relaxing and gets out the frustration of the day. I can switch off from problems and write a post about things that don't really matter, things that don't cause me stress. It isn't something I want to make a career out of and I don't expect to ever be popular, but I enjoy it.

6. Do you have any weird holiday traditions?
No? Does that make me boring? All my traditions are pretty normal. I think.

7. Is there a fictional character you would have loved to meet in real life? Which one?

Plus Devon Bostick is cute af

8. What are the best and worst purchases you've ever made?
Oh god. I don't know. There's so many of them. Best are probably my cats and worst was a galaxy light thing I bought off ebay. I spent 2 hours putting it together, only for it to have the brightness of a candle flickering 17 miles away...

9. What's the worst screw up you've ever made in the kitchen?
Back when I was first teaching myself how to cook I decided to make a Shepherd's Pie from scratch. So I spent all afternoon cooking, took the Pyrex dish out of the oven and put it on the side. Then the dish cracked and tipped everything over the edge of the counter and on to the floor. As a teenager I worked in a pub kitchen and put a metal gravy boat in the microwave 🙃 My one and only attempt at making fudge ended up with me furiously washing chunky condensed milk down the drain. I once dropped a full 4 pint bottle of milk on the floor when making mash (yes, mash) and it spilled everywhere. My kitchen smelled like cheese for weeks. I am not a graceful person.

10. Do you have any "useless" talents? What are they?
I can flip through books and find the exact page I need on the first try almost every time. Don't know why or how. I'm very light-footed and can sneak up on people. It comes in handy at 3am when the fiance is playing games with headphones on 😏 And I don't know if this is useless or not, but I can always tell you the exact time and I'm never more than 2 minutes out. But that doesn't mean I'm going to be on time...

11. Has anyone ever tricked you into believing something and then you discovered it wasn't true? What was it?
"Algebra is something you will use in everyday life" - every maths teacher in high school

  1. Oh boy, you're a mess in the kitchen :') My first attempt at fudge went pretty much the same way because I had to use a milk alternative and it did not work at all :(

    1. making fudge is hard and whoever said it wasn't is a liar :). i'm much better now, i haven't had a cooking disaster in quite some time lol

    2. Liar indeed! Ah that's good to hear then! I just seem to progressively get worse for some reason, I guess I need to make things from scratch more often.

    3. I'm sure it's not as bad as you think it is. We're always our own harshest critics.
