My Current Makeup Collection

Everything new was bought before beginning Project Pan.

I've done this twice before and due to problems with my blog last year (I lost all my photos during the transition from Wordpress to Blogger), I had to remove the posts entirely. Which is a shame as I have nothing really to compare it to, other than the odd photo I managed to scrounge...

2016
My Current Makeup Collection

As you can see, there wasn't much to it. I had one foundation, two concealers, a BUNCH of lipsticks but not really a lot of anything else. I don't have a lot of this still in my collection - just the LA Girl lipstick, the Collection Velvet Kiss lipsticks in Caramel and Blackberry, the Swamp Queen Palette, the Sleek Palette and the Freedom Highlight. I remember liking a lot of these, until I got something better and then they went to new homes.

2017
My Current Makeup Collection

This would've been around the end of May, beginning of June as I have items from CarnLIVal in there, and the Sweet Peach palette is still in it's packaging. You can see how much things have changed from the sheer volume of stuff crammed into that acrylic storage unit. I still have the majority of this stuff, but a lot has gone on to better homes. I also found a new staples in my collection, like the Zoeva Cocoa Blends palette and the Soap&Glory Archery Pencil.

I thought I had a lot of makeup then. I was worried about using it all. Oh, how little I knew...

2018
My Current Makeup Collection

Um...I can explain?

I became a little bit obsessed with makeup in the last year. The worst part is I recently gave away two full tote bags of products that were hardly/unused and this is what's left over. It's taken over my dresser and I'm struggling with storage, whilst still having everything accessible because out of sight is out of mind and some of these products are too pretty to waste away in a drawer.

I'm going to gloss over the Urban Decay Vault. I've talked about this a million times. It contains 20 single eyeshadows and 20 eyeliners.

My Current Makeup Collection

Primers
I rarely use primers so I've no idea why I have so many...

My Current Makeup Collection

ELF Hydrating Under Eye Primer
I'm not sure about this. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Primers in general don't seem to do much for me but I've convinced myself it's because I haven't found the right one. I have two new ones to try so we shall see.

Pixi by Petra Flawless & Poreless Primer
I'm still undecided on this primer. I've had it for a few months now and it doesn't appear to do anything.

ELF Poreless Face Primer
This is the primer I reach for the most as it really does fill in my pores, but I only tend to use it when I'm looking for a flawless base and I only need to wear it for a short period of time. It does the job but it doesn't keep your makeup on longer.

Technic Primer Spray
I've only used this once so I have no opinion on whether this is good or not.

Revlon Photo Ready Prime + Anti Shine Balm
I got this for 75% off as someone had swatched it in store, but that's nothing an alcohol wipe can't fix. I haven't used it yet, but I'm looking forward to trying it out.

Nivea Sensitive Post Shave Balm
The fiance got this in a toiletries kit at Christmas, but since he uses a rotary shaver and not a razor, he had no use for it. So I decided to see if the 2015 primer hack works and I'll test it out eventually.

Foundation
My Current Makeup Collection

I go back and forth on whether I actually like this, because it does make my skin look flawless - but only for about an hour. My skin isn't particularly oily other than my t-zone, but it tends to break apart in less than 2 hours. Which is annoying, considering all the time I spend setting my skin so that it doesn't break up quickly.

I really like this foundation, but it's a tiny bit too yellow for me. If it was ever so slightly more pink it would be a perfect match. I might try a different shade as the coverage is bomb.

This smells like play-doh, there's no getting around it. I stopped using it because once I figured out the smell, it put me off wearing it. This is the lightest shade and is still a touch too dark, and I'm not even that pale.

Concealer

Christian Breton Radiance and Coverage Under Eye Brightener
This was part of a Christmas gift and unfortunately I do not get along with it. It's very, VERY thick, dark pink and incredibly cakey. Do not recommend.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in 01 Fair
I only ever use this to carve out my brows as it's thick, but still malleable and brightening. As it oxidises, this doesn't show on my brow bone. I still don't understand the hype around this concealer.

NYX HD Studio Photogenic Concealer
I bought this a couple of weeks ago and I've not really formed too much of an opinion on it yet. It's one of those products that I think will take a while to work out what I really think.

Revlon Colorstay Concealer
At first I was in two minds about this, but after using it for three months I've decided I do enjoy it. It's not very light, or brightening and it's only medium coverage but it's buildable, doesn't cake and sets well with any powder.

Powder
My Current Makeup Collection

They don't make this shade anymore, which is disappointing as it's so light. I bought this from B&M for £4.99, which is half price, and I've yet to use it, so we shall see how it performs. Technically its a foundation but I'd never wear it as one, only as a setting powder to add a bit of extra coverage.

I've had this about a year and I still really do not like this. It does nothing. Do not recommend.

I bought this will the intention of learning how to bake, but I don't know if I will actually use for that. Either way, I always need a setting powder so it'll get used.

Once upon a time, this was the only powder I liked but lately, it's not doing it for me. I've found myself not wanting to use it, or automatically reaching for other products.

Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Powder in Translucent
After seeing one of the few beauty gurus I trust (RawBeautyKristi) rave about this, and having tried other products that she later turned out to love, I trusted her and picked this up. I'm still somewhat undecided.

Bronzer/Contour
My Current Makeup Collection

My Current Makeup Collection

This was my first real contour palette and I liked it at the time, but I've since found things I prefer. That's not to say it's not good, it is, but the shades don't work for me. Their too warm or too ashy.

I really love the first bronzer in this palette. I've not been much into contour lately, so a nice dusting of light bronzer is perfect and this is a great quality palette.

I fell into the hype trap, you guys. I saw too many people talking about it and I bought it. I've only had it a month so I'm not too sure what I think. Mine doesn't have that sun cream smell other people go on about, but I'm not sure I'm bothered about it.

Sleek Contour Kit in Light
I don't like it. There, I said it. It's too orange and it's patchy. I honestly don't know why I keep holding on to it.

Blusher
My Current Makeup Collection

My Current Makeup Collection

This is a palette I like, but I don't reach for all too often. It's a shame really as the shades are so pretty and the highlight/topper is gorgeous.

I got this in clearance at Boots for £1.65, which is about 1/4 of the price, so that's nice. I was after a more coral toned blush and christ, I got it. I don't know why this was in clearance, I can only assume it's because it's so vivid. This shade is more vivid than others from the same range I've had in the past, which I was not expecting. I've not been a fan of Bourjois because of this inconsistency they seemed to have but for less than the price of a frappe, I can't really complain too much.

At first, I thought the powders are too pigmented and I couldn't work with them. I was considering giving it away, but lately I don't know, I've been liking it. I think I was probably using the wrong type of brush. I swapped out a Spectrum powder brush for a Real Techniques blush brush and it's made all the difference. As I've not really used it since my Testing ELF Makeup post, it'll be nice to try it all out again.

Makeup Geek Blush Pan in XOXO
This is such a pretty shade, and I neglected it for so long. I love the MUG fornula and would recommend it to anyone looking for buildable blushers.

Soap&Glory Love At First Blush Multi-Shading Blushing Powder
This is so pretty but the pigment is a bit lacking, so I tend to use this more as a topper, a very light blush if I'm going for a more chiseled look, or as a highlight.

Sleek Shimmer Blush in Rose Gold
I didn't love this at first, but when I scratched away the top layer with an old spoolie, the pigmentation came through. It's stunning with a light hand and supposedly a dupe for NARS Orgasm.

Highlight
My Current Makeup Collection

Um...where to start 😬

Technic Get Gorgeous Highlighting Powder
This is pretty and natural. Nothing special, but a nice every day highlighter.

Freedom Pro Highlight in Diffused
Undoubtedly my favourite daytime glow, I love this.

L'Oreal True Match Illuminating Powder in Icy Glow
I don't love this. It's okay, I guess, but kind of meh.

MUA Undress Your Skin Highlighting Powder in Peach Diamond
This is brand new, I haven't even swatched this yet, but it looks pretty. I'm excited.

MUA Undress Your Skin Highlighting Powder in Pearlescent Sheen
This is icy white with purple reflect and I am living for it. I don't wear it too much as it's more of an extra colour, but I adore it.

MUA Undress Your Skin Highlighting Powder in Golden Scintillation
I was going through my gold phase when I picked this up and it's fine, but a bit too glittery whereas the others are more shimmery. I wouldn't repurchase but it is nice.

Makeup Obsession Highlighter in Lightning
This is beautiful. It's white with a gold marble effect in the pan, but on the skin it's gorgeously silver.

Makeup Obsession Highlighter in Moon
This was the first highlighter I ever bought and I still like it, but I don't wear it often. The formula has changed and this is pretty old and glittery, whereas I prefer shimmery now.

Makeup Obsession Strobe Balm in Radiance
This is another product I haven't used yet, but I've had it a while so I should get going. I don't often wear cream products so I'm not sure why I bought it, but its looks like it might be soft and natural.

PUR Quick Pro Portables Glow Palette
These are stunning on the skin and blend out so softly, while still having an amazing glow.

Technic Strobe Kit
This is one of those products that is just okay. You wouldn't go out of your way to use it, but if you're in a pinch it'll do.

Makeup Revolution Liquid Highlighter in Unicorn Elixir
I did a first impression on these last year and honestly, I've not used it since.

Makeup Revolution Liquid Highlighter in Liquid Luminous Gold
I've used this twice since I bought it and I do like it, but I can't see myself getting a tonne of use out of it. It's luminous and gives a stunning glow to the skin, but I much prefer powder highlighters because of the consistency and buildability.

Setting Spray
My Current Makeup Collection

Superdrug Vitamin E Hydrating Mist
I've not used this yet to set my makeup but if it's anything like the other products in the Vitamin E range, I'm going to love it.

B. Hydrated Hyaluronic Acid Facial Spritz
I love this facial spritz. It's hydrating, it sets my makeup in place and it's amazing on its own. Dare I say I prefer it over Mario Badescu (cos I do).

Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater
and
Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Cucumber and Green Tea
I really enjoy these sprays and they are relatively inexpensive at £7 each. I prefer the Rosewater scent over the Green Tea as I'm more of a floral girl.

Brows
My Current Makeup Collection

I missed having a brow gel in my collection but wanted something with a small wand, plus I didn't want to spend over the odds. This was forever out of stock but I finally managed to snag it last month. So far it's good, I like the applicator, it reminds me of the size of Benefit Gimme Brow

I bought this at Christmas in a gift set, and at first, I didn't like it at all. But I've found that for me, the best way to use it is to draw my brows on with the pencil before I do my foundation, fill in any spare gaps where I want more definition with the tint and then clean up with concealer. It now takes me 10 minutes to do my brows compared to 20 and they look so much better.

I really like Soap&Glory brow products, can you tell? It's not overly pigmented and easy to use, which is great as someone who is heavy handed and not the best at filling in their brows.

I bought this because I wanted to test out something different and I'm not crazy about it. The shade is very warm, and I can't really get away with it.

Eyeliner
My Current Makeup Collection

I keep telling myself I'll do winged liner again but I won't.

I still haven't found anyone who wants these. Which either means no one likes them or no one ever does winged liner.

Soap&Glory Crazy Sexy Kohl Eyeliner
They don't make this anymore, which says it all really. I used it for a guest post on Lise's blog before Christmas and haven't touched it since because I prefer my Urban Decay liners.

Eyeshadow
My Current Makeup Collection

I'm going to split this into brands.

My Current Makeup Collection

Soap&Glory Lid Stuff
This was limited edition in a gift set and the only grey shadows I own. The quality and pigmentation is okay, but I don't necessarily reach for it as I prefer warm tones.

My Current Makeup Collection

My Current Makeup Collection

I wanted to love this so much but it's just not that great. I like the purple, and the burnt sienna, but otherwise it's a disappointment.

My Current Makeup Collection

My Current Makeup Collection

This is a great budget basic for matte looks and transition shades. The dark shades aren't up to much, but the medium and light colours are brilliant for simple eyeshadow.

My Current Makeup Collection

My Current Makeup Collection

I made this myself. On the left are two brow powders that I bought recently to replace a blush and eyeshadow I didn't like. I have a whole blog post about it, to read click the palette name.

My Current Makeup Collection

My Current Makeup Collection

I'm currently panning this palette and it looks exactly the same as it did when I took the photos for the blog post on Project Pan 2018. Which is disappointing.

This is meant to be a dupe for ABH Subculture, which I was searching for, but I've not used it enough to develop a proper opinion yet.

My Current Makeup Collection

My Current Makeup Collection

This was meant to be a dupe for ABH Renaissance and it really isn't. I like it quite a lot, apart from the dark browns which are shockingly bad. But the shimmers, medium shades and reds are great.

My Current Makeup Collection

My Current Makeup Collection

This a great palette. It's got gorgeous neutrals and pigmented but blendable oranges and blues, for wilder looks. I don't use it as much as I should.

My Current Makeup Collection

My Current Makeup Collection

This is my favourite palette. I love every shade. The pigmentation is incredible, they blend beautifully and the black is a proper black. As you can see, some of the shades are well loved.

My Current Makeup Collection

Too Faced Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette
My overall thoughts: not worth the hype, sort of crap and has hardly any peachy shades.

Lipstick

My Current Makeup Collection

Again, splitting this into brands.

My Current Makeup Collection

I enjoy all of NYX's formulas but don't wear the darker shades very often as I prefer a nude.

My Current Makeup Collection

I'm panning Caramel and there's not too much left. Rosie isn't something I reach for often as I don't wear such bright colours and Blackberry is very, very patchy - not worth the effort.

My Current Makeup Collection

I've yet to use Plums Up or the XL Gloss, but I really like Bare Enough. I'm not a fan of the scent as its marshmallow and sickly sweet.

My Current Makeup Collection

I think I'm going to chuck the blue, but Gravity is a gorgeous nude. The only problem is they are incredibly drying and have no elasticity. If I could find a better formula in the same colour I'd be set.

My Current Makeup Collection

I used to adore these but lately I've realised the formula is rubbish. It's a shame.

My Current Makeup Collection

These were a gift from the fiance and I adore them, especially Trance, which I wasn't sure about at first. It's a nude pink with copper reflects, comfortable to wear and gorgeous.

My Current Makeup Collection

LA Girl Flat Velvet Matte in Snuggle
No7 Matte Lipstick in Rust

I love all of these. Snuggle is in my Project Pan and I haven't used Brown Sugar yet.

My Current Makeup Collection

I'm panning the scrub and I've only used the Essence once so I have no opinion yet. I do enjoy the colour of the blue lipstick but it smears everywhere, even when dried down.

And there we have it, my current makeup collection. In comparison to the last two years I've definitely acquired a lot more products and discovered things that I thought I loved that no longer work for me - plus some that I am a bit obsessed with.

What's in your makeup collection?
