What's On My Dresser?

Like a lot of people, I'm really nosey and love to see what type of set ups others have. Right now, I'm kind of into the What's On My Dresser/Room Tour thing and thought I might as well add my own into the mix. I'm in the process of converting my box room into a "beauty room" of sorts (in that I'm going to fill it with my junk and it has the best light in the house), so most of my stuff is crammed in there and it looks a little bit cluttered. And by a little bit, I mean very.

My dressing table is the Malm range from Ikea. I don't think they make this particular model with the lift up mirror anymore. If they do, I haven't seen it in a while. I've had this for about 5 years. I was after something with deep drawers and a mirror I could remove so that I could use it as a desk (which did not happen). So the option to fold down the mirror when not in use worked out great for me.

To the left of the dresser is my plastic storage drawers full of half used candles and jewelry that I never wear. On top I keep my newer candles and incense. I burn incense pretty much all the time during the warmer months, so I have a bit of a stash. My favourites are Green Man, Sun and Wizard's Spell. With these, because I have nowhere else to store them, are my hair products. I reach for hairspray to keep my fly aways tamed when I'm wearing a pony tail and this L'Oreal one is amazing.

To the left of my mirror is a Dove gift box re-purposed to house all my hair ties and clips. I have tonnes and if I don't have a designated spot, they end up all over the house. Well, they do anyway but now I have a place to pop them when I gather them. On top of the box is a mirror I used to keep in my bathroom, but the stand broke and I decided it looked quite nice there, as a backdrop for my perfumes and body sprays. I also keep temple balms and a Joker statue I found from a missing magazine during my WHSmith days. And there's my electric toothbrush, charging away.

Only after taking, editing and uploading the photos did I realise that all my bottles are facing the wrong direcion :/

Behind the mirror I have limited space so I keep things there that I don't reach for constantly, like deodorants, my phone speakers, bulky hand cream and my cute VW money-box. This was a gift from my mum for Christmas a few years ago and it's come in handy. I always seem to have pennies lining my bag, so they go in there.

In front of that is Atonement by Ian McEwan. I'm really trying with this book but I don't know about it. I like to have my makeup brushes where I can see them, so I popped them in this Ikea candle holder. Original.

On the right hand side of my dresser is a wooden Love Is All You Need wall decoration that I bought forever ago and never put up. Then, in front of that is my makeup. I have a quickly growing collection that is ever-changing, so I won't go through that just yet.

In the left top drawer, I keep my planner and a few other odds and ends. The top right drawer is literally filled with rubbish (including insoles I keep meaning to put in my work boots). In the bottom left drawer I keep hair brushes I don't use often, and all my hair electrical items. I don't throw anything away, as you can see. In the bottom right drawer, I keep makeup bags and cases, as well as all my body care things. I recently did a huge skin care declutter and I'm working my way through all these things.

There we have it!

  1. So much stuff! I really need to get myself a dresser like that, I don't have a space to sit down in front of a mirror.. And we all totally have those miscellaneous drawers full of crap that we don't need. :')

    1. The crap drawer is universal :) I would definitely recommend having a look in Ikea. I'm sure mine has been discontinued but they do one called Brimnes with a fold down mirror.
