Project Pan 2018

By andhonestly - Friday, March 02, 2018

I am VERY late starting this challenge. Mostly because I've been putting it off. I have a lot of products that are a couple of years old and need to be used up and tossed out before they start to go off and cause weird reactions. My skin isn't particularly sensitive but I'm not risking it.

I chose products from several different categories and I'm giving myself six months to use up a large amount of them, or potentially finish them. Some of these are already almost done, so it'll be nice to say sayonara to the dregs. I'm also doing more skin care than makeup as I have tonnes that are half used up and are on the verge of expiring. Also, this looks like a LOT of stuff, but most of it will run out fairly quickly.

Project Pan 2018

The Rules:
1. Take photos of all the products being used
2. Do not open any new products until these are finished
3. Only buy replacements when it's absolutely necessary

Skin Care

Soap & Glory Peaches and Clean Cleansing Milk

Project Pan 2018

This is about 18 months old and I've got TONNES left. I don't use it very often as its quite labour intensive and I generally prefer gel cleansers or micellar water as they are easier to use and remove from the skin. Sometimes it can leave a film and to me, it defeats the purpose of a cleanser.

Boots Time Delay Exfoliating Toner

Project Pan 2018

Toners never seem to work for me. I have combination to oily skin and this one is definitely way too harsh. It's gotta go, but I'd feel bad giving this to someone else when its not that great - plus pouring it down the sink would be incredibly wasteful.

Garnier Sensitive Skin Micellar Water

Project Pan 2018

I love micellar water for quick, easy cleansing and I've got a backup ready to go that's better suited to my needs. This was a hand me down from my mum who has extremely sensitive skin and can't use it. They do last a while but it's my preferred cleansing method so it should be used up fairly quickly.

Neutrogena Anti-Blemish Oil Free Moisturiser

Project Pan 2018

This is a product that I used to use, many years ago, and picked up recently because I was on a budget and wanted a cheap daily moisturiser. It smells nice and makes my skin tingly for a minute or two, but it doesn't do enough to hydrate and leaves my skin on my cheeks feeling horribly taut. It's got about half left so hopefully it won't take too long.

Mario Badescu Glycolic Foaming Cleanser mini

Project Pan 2018

I LOVE this cleanser and a tiny dot goes a long way, which explains why a 10ml sample size has been lasting me forever. I haven't been using it lately as you need to wear SPF over top and I don't have any (I lost it), but I found a day cream in my collection that I'm switching out to, so I can incorporate both once I've used up the Neutrogena.

Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter

Project Pan 2018

As you can see, there's not an incredible amount left in this. I love this body butter and I have a lot of back ups ready to go, mostly from Soap & Glory as well. I've been really loving them lately.

O'Keeffe's Working Hands Cream

Project Pan 2018

This is probably the best hand cream I have ever used. But I left it by a candle and it melted in the heat, so now it looks disgusting. But, it did make me discover that I only half about half of it left (after a year of usage!). A tiny amount goes a long way so this one will be a lot of work but I can also use it on my elbows as knees as its amazing for dry skin.

No7 Softening Foot Balm

Project Pan 2018

This is at least 6 years old. I'm disgusting, I know. But there's so much product left and I tested to see if it's still in good condition - it's fine. I've been neglecting my feet lately so it'll be nice to use this up and soften the tootsies.

Carmex Lip Balm in Strawberry

Project Pan 2018

I've had this a while and I don't really like the scent or tackiness, but its been used on my lips so I can't give it away - I'm not going to throw it out either. Plus, I can always use the hydration.

The Body Shop Honeymania Shower Gel

Project Pan 2018

I love this, but its over a year old and I need to start working on it. Its very soft and hydrating on my skin, but cheap enough to replace eventually - if I like it that much. I have a lot of shower gels to go through before it comes to repurchasing anything.

Lush The Olive Branch

Project Pan 2018

This is hands down my favourite Lush shower gel. Since I don't shop with them anymore, I feel like I'm losing something if I use this up. But its just a shower gel. It's well out of date and I need to finish it off before it gets lumpy...which happened to my last one.

Soap & Glory Sugar Crush and Clean On Me minis

Project Pan 2018

I have too many Soap & Glory shower gels and I very rarely go anywhere overnight. The last time I went away was to Cheltenham and I came back with more skin care than I left with. So I'll work through these, it should only take a couple of months.

Perfume/Body Sprays

The Body Shop Body Mist in Satsuma

Project Pan 2018

This is my second favourite scent from TBS. It's beautiful, but it doesn't last very long at all. Next time I'll get the perfume.

The Body Shop Body Mist in Pink Grapefruit

Project Pan 2018

This is my favourite scent of all time, from any brand. I love pink grapefruit. I've only got a tiny bit left, but as with the Satsuma, I'll replace it with the perfume (at some point) as the fragrance will last longer.

Halle by Halle Berry

Project Pan 2018

This was a gift from my late mother in law. There is only a teeny tiny amount left, but I'm kind of afraid to finish it off. What am I going to do with an empty perfume bottle? Seems a shame to throw it out.

Sun Solid Perfume by Lush

Project Pan 2018

I adore this citrus solid perfume but it doesn't last on the skin and its sitting in my collection, taunting me. I want to work through at least half of it.

grav3yardgirl Swamp Queen Palette

Project Pan 2018

Project Pan 2018

This palette will be 2 years old in April. I'm about to hit pan on Haunting and Big Baby. It only seemed right that this would be the one to reach for first in a Project Pan. Even though I love it and it's discontinued. I don't reach for it much anymore because I know I'm close to using up one of my favourite shades, and I do have a lot of better quality products - so I suppose its the right move. But 😭 My goal isn't to use it up completely, because I never use the blusher, bronzer and highlight, but I would like to hit pan on at least half of the eyeshadows.

Essence All About The Eyes Mascaras

Project Pan 2018

I have two of these and I can't tell which is the oldest one - I bought them six months apart - so they both have to go. I love the formula and they're cheap to replace. No big deal.

Stila Mile High Lashes Mascara

Project Pan 2018

I don't really like this but it cost £14 so I'm not throwing it away or giving it away. It's getting finished. I've only reached for it a handful of times so I'm going to try to finish it off as quickly as I can.

ELF Lip Scrub in Cherry Blossom

Project Pan 2018

I love how this smells but it's very affordable to replace and its getting old for a skin care/beauty product. I need to really start working on it.

LA Girl Flat Matte Velvet Lipstick in Snuggle

Project Pan 2018

This is about 2 years old, discontinued, and I love it. It's a dark, daytime appropriate nude, so I can wear it with most makeup looks.

Collection Velvet Kiss Lipstick in Caramel

Project Pan 2018

Another daytime nude. I'm about half finished, so it won't take much longer. I have more expensive lipsticks, but this is still the one I always reach for.

Hopefully I will be able to get through a lot of these fairly quickly. It's a shame to see the discontinued ones go but hanging on to things for the sake of it is silly. I want to actually wear the pretty things instead of letting them go bad in a drawer.

I think I'll do an update halfway through, which should be around the end of June. I'm looking forward to saving myself some cash as well - September is going to be all about the haul!

Are you doing Project Pan this year?
