Dollibox September 2017

Over the last few years beauty subscription boxes have really become a thing. I've always liked the idea of them, but most seem to be duds. I can't tell you the number of lukewarm reviews I've read online, which put me off trying them out. Not to mention that most companies don't send full sized products or even decent samples, sometimes sending the same product multiple times as well.

One box I'd LOVE to try out is Facestory, but unfortunately, they don't offer the service in the UK. Most other boxes seemed a bit blah, but then I came across Dollibox on Instagram. They offer 5 full sized products by a mix of well known and relatively unknown brands for £10.00. Shipping costs an extra £3.90, but that is pretty average for Royal Mail parcels. Scrolling through their posts, I liked what I saw and decided there and then to sign up.

I received my first box 2 days after the shipping email was sent out, which is standard delivery time for first class post. The box was admittedly a little smaller than anticipated but, as the saying goes, you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover.

Box cost: £10.00 + £3.90 shipping = £13.90
Box worth (excluding Schwarzkopf): £22.47

Colour me impressed.

I couldn't find a price on the mini cleansing conditioner, but without it, the contents are almost £10 more than the box cost. I really like that is a mix of well known and indie brands. All of the products are ones I will definitely get a lot of use out of. Also, the pressed glitter is gorgeous. I love a purple shadow so this will be perfect for a halo eye, or going full on Joby.

I have just chucked out my favourite red lipstick, so the Focallure Matte Lipstick is a great addition to my collection (also it smells like vanilla). As will the lip balm (because you can never have enough lip hydration). I'm really excited to try out the dry skin balm by Fairypants. I was going to invest in Elbow Grease from Lush, but this balm arrived before I ordered. It smells good enough to eat and I was almost tempted. The shampoo sounds interesting and I will definitely try it out the next time I wash my hair.

I'm snacking on the popcorn right now. It's ridiculously delicious and photogenic.

Overall, I have to say that this was a success. I love everything in this box. All the items are things that I will use regularly, except maybe the glitter as its more of an occasion-wear makeup product, and I am definitely going to stay subscribed for the foreseeable future.
